At Crimson Lights, Sally thanks Chloe for working late tonight and her COO asks how her meeting with Nick went. Sally says that he was “positive”, but she is vague. Chloe is glad to hear that she turned out better than expected and tells Sally that he wants the best for her. He fought hard to be here and now Nick Newman is singing his praises. “Looks like he can’t get enough of you.” Sally makes a face. Chloe assures him that she can tell him anything. Sally says it’s about Nick… but she has nothing to do with business. Sally reveals that things between her and Nick have taken a decidedly personal turn. Chloe learns that they have been intimate and reflects, “These things happen.” A couple of drinks during dinner and you can make a mistake. Sally asks if it’s a mistake if it happens twice. Chloe needs to process this. Sally explains that he is new and that he came out of nowhere, but has been Amazing. Chloe raises a hand. “Oversharing!”

At Newman Enterprises, Nick informs Adam that his ex can do whatever he wants, including having a business dinner with him. Adam reflects that from the way they were looking at each other, he highly doubts they were talking about profit margins. Nick accuses him of letting his imagination run wild. Adam wants him to come clean. Nick tells him that jealousy doesn’t look good and warns him to be careful. Adam growls that Sally is using Nick to get back at him. “You’re the rebound type. I broke her heart and she went to the next Newman in line.” Nick says that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. “If you think that’s what’s going on, then you don’t know me or Sally very well.” Adam notices that he hasn’t denied that they’re sleeping together, so he tells her everything he needs to know. He keeps pressing Nick to tell him the truth, but Nick’s brother tells him to let it go. “We’re done.” Adam asks, “Are you serious, Nick?” He’s not going to crawl out of there with his tail between his legs and he’s just getting started.
In Crimson Lights, Sally goes on to say that they’re not putting a label on her, but Nick is honest, charming, funny, and listens to her opinion. She is very happy when she is with him. Chloe sighs. She thinks Nick is a good guy, but Sally isn’t doing herself a favor by getting involved not only with her boss, but also with Adam’s brother. She worries that Sally is not 100% better than Adam. Sally will get there. Chloe warns that overlapping can get very messy. Does Adam know about Nick? Sally says that she doesn’t know for sure, but she is suspicious. Chloe bristles: “That’s not good.” Sally points out that they have been polite, even when she and Nick ran into Adam and Chelsea at dinner. Chloe thinks it sounds like the night from hell and is grateful for her boring life. She warns Sally that if Adam thinks he’s sleeping with Nick, he’ll harass her, and if he finds out what’s really going on, he will. No handle it gracefully!

Summer and Kyle greet each other at the Abbott mansion with a kiss and wish each other a happy vow renewal eve. Kyle informs her that he will find out about her later: she is needed in the bedroom right now for a surprise.
Nate goes into the attic after a walk and hopes they’ve calmed down. Elena hasn’t changed her mind about what she’s doing and she still thinks they need to spend some time apart. “I booked a room at the Grand Phoenix.” Nate asks, “For how long?” she doesn’t know Nate wants to work this out together at her house, but Elena says no. With what she feels, she can’t stay there with him. She would make things worse than they already are. Nate hates that she can’t see her plan from her perspective. Elena sees what she’s doing and she doesn’t like what she’s becoming: she’s blinded by greed and ambition and she thinks hers is the only opinion that matters. She values power above everything else, even her family. Nate denies it. He doesn’t value power over the people in her life, especially her. Elena would do anything to help him, but he doesn’t even listen to her. Nate doesn’t need her to save him. “What I want is your love and support.” He sighs, “But it seems like that’s too much to ask.” Suddenly he thinks she’s right: a breakup is best.
In Kyle and Summer’s room, she has her eyes closed and he kisses her. He then she puts a straw hat on his head. She opens her eyes and pulls it off her head so she can look at him. Summer considers him “cute”, but she doesn’t know how much wear and tear she will get out of her. She assumes it’s a clue. Kyle nods.
He tells her that they are going to a place where the straw hat will fit in perfectly with the tropical setting: Costa Rica for their honeymoon! Summer screams and jumps up and down and into her arms. Afterward, she wants to know everything about the honeymoon. Kyle paints a picture of paradise so vivid he can practically feel the sand under his toes. Kyle offers to give her a preview of what’s going to happen in Costa Rica and they kiss and start undressing.
At Newman, Adam wants to know what’s going on with the woman he still loves and her brother. Nick tells her that if Sally wanted to talk to him about her personal life, she would. He says it’s sad that Adam makes a final run around her to go after him. Adam reminds her that it’s about what he’s doing to her. Nick groans, “Here we go.” Adam points out that there are thousands of women in this town, but who was he for? Nick tells him that it’s not all about him. They warm up just as Victoria appears and asks what the hell is going on.
Adam says he was there to see Nick but is leaving now. He tells Victoria that Nick can give her and Sally an update because he’ll bet big money that he’ll see her again tonight. “Until next time, bro,” Adam intones as he walks out. Victoria asks Nick, “What was that?” Nick says it was just Adam doing what he does best and picking a fight. Victoria asks if she would like to elaborate on her comment about Sally. Nick says it’s nothing for him to worry about, it’s nobody’s business. Victoria disagrees. You and Adam just made it my business.
In Crimson Lights, Sally insists to Chloe that she and Nick are nothing. She wants to drop the subject. Chloe thinks they should address the most important thing. “What does your heart feel?” Sally knows that she can’t go back to Adam. She refuses to let him break her heart again. Chloe wasn’t talking about Adam…she was talking about Nick.
In the attic, Elena has everything she needs…for now. Nate says, “It’s not like this is forever, is it?” Elena should get going. She walks to the door, stops and turns. “I love you, Nat. I wish…” Nate says, “I know. Me too.” Elena leaves.
Elena walks into her hotel suite, sits down and cries.
At home, Nate pours himself a scotch, sighs, looks at a photo of him and Elena, and paces.
At Newman, Victoria points out that Nick has become a big supporter of Sally. He is convinced that he will do great things for Newman Media. Victoria trusts her judgment, which is why she gave him another chance, but Adam seems to think something is going on between him and Sally and doesn’t seem happy about it. Nick jokes, “Did you notice it too?” Victoria warns him not to joke about this. Adam is going to lash out, the only question is how bad is he going to be.
In Crimson Lights, Sally doesn’t understand Chloe’s concern for Nick. “Don’t I deserve a good boy?” Chloe says, “Of course.” But she knows that Sally feels things deeply. What if Nick shows up and says this was just a thing? “Would you be okay with that?” Sally insists that they would talk about it and just call it off. She appreciates Chloe’s concern, but she’s not going to let her heart be broken. Chloe reminds her that she can’t predict that. Sally just needs time to figure things out. Suddenly, Adam walks in.

Chloe refuses to leave Adam alone with Sally when he says that he wants to talk. Adam tells her that she can stay. He just wants a straight answer from Sally. “You know this is eating me up and you know how I feel about you, so just tell me please. I just need to hear the truth… from you.” Sally sighs. “Yes, something happened between Nick and me. I don’t know what it is, but whatever it is, you can’t have an opinion about it. You and I broke up. I don’t owe you an explanation. She walks out and Chloe looks at Adam with her arms crossed.
Chloe tells Adam that he did this to himself by pushing too hard. He made Sally run in the opposite direction and now he has room in her life for good things. Chloe decides that she should thank him. “Well done. Good job!”

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle and Summer are snuggled up on the couch when Harrison calls out to them from above. Once they have the boy downstairs on the couch with them, Summer guesses that she had a really good dream. Harrison nods. Summer thinks it’s because he’s excited about tomorrow. Harrison confirms: “I can’t wait.” Kyle declares that it will be a great day for all of them. Summer calls for a group hug.
In Society, Victoria meets Nate at the bar. She ordered takeout and he invites her to join him while she waits. She notices that he doesn’t seem to be having the best night and asks if she has anything to do with Chancellor-Winters. Nate confirms that he has everything to do with it. Victoria wonders if that means she’s changing her mind about fixing her. Nate assures her that she is a man of her word and her agreement stands. She is confident that she has created a conflict between him and Elena. Victoria is surprised that she told him about the plan. Nate wishes he hadn’t. He tells Victoria not to worry, she won’t spill the beans. Victoria reflects that not everyone is like the two of them and her father. Nate isn’t used to having to justify his decisions. Victoria urges him to stay on his path and in his convictions, it is the only way not to repent.

At Newman, Nick tells Victoria that he can handle Adam. Victoria feels that he is not the only one to worry about: her father will have something to say about him becoming romantically involved with a woman she wants to fire. Nick shrugs, “It’s no big deal.” Victoria asks, “What about summer?” and she reminds him that Sally tried to steal her job. Nick tells Victoria that he is getting ahead of himself and that this is not for public consumption. Victoria scoffs that things have a way of getting out. Nick says, “It’s my life.” Victoria gives up. “Penalty fee.” But she warns him that she considers that what she is doing with Sally affects the family and the company. “That is an absolute certainty.”

Sally is looking out the window of her hotel room when there is a knock on the door. She opens it to Nick. She exhales. He takes a step towards her and they kiss her.
