the Real Housewives of New Jersey Star, 43, told PEOPLE exclusively that she is “done” with Teresa.
“I got off the roller coaster,” he shared. “I don’t want to be in it anymore. We’ll see what happens.”
The reality star added that she will no longer be the one trying to patch things up with her husband. joe gorgasister, saying, “Melissa has left the building in that situation. I’m done.”
Melissa said she thinks the family “needs a little time” right now.
“I think sometimes this continues. How many times do you want to go in and out, in and out? Eventually you need to protect your immediate family,” he explained. “We need to protect our marriage and our children and the life we live. We can’t always try to reach out our hands and not be reciprocated. We’re tired.”
However, the cousins are still in a relationship, Melissa confirmed.
“All cousins talk,” he said. “Everyone is fine… I feel like kids should never get involved. They should have unconditional love for their aunts and uncles. I make sure Antonia, Gino and Joey have it.”

Over the years, the Gorgas have gone through difficult times in their relationship with Teresa. Part of the tension stemmed from the legal problems that Teresa and her ex-husband joe guidice faced each other years ago, while the most recent drama focused on Teresa’s treatment of the couple.
In May, Joe and Teresa got into an explosive fight during the Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12 reunion after Teresa called her younger brother “bitch boy” and disparagingly compared him to a housewife.
The argument it got so intense between the two brothers that Joe left the stage, threatening to “give up” the Bravo franchise. But tensions only escalated between the brothers backstage as they continued to go back and forth. Even the host of the reunion and the executive producer of the franchise. Andy Cohen he had to intervene to prevent Teresa from repeatedly interrupting Joe.
“I want to be in a relationship with you, I love you, but you said some nasty things tonight,” Joe told his sister. “I don’t want to argue with you anymore.”

“Teresa betrayed them in a way that is inexcusable,” a source said. “They are not going to celebrate Teresa’s new marriage when all she does is try to destroy theirs.”
“It’s unfortunate. I think it’s sad,” Melissa told PEOPLE at BravoCon. “I wish we could have gone, but it is what it is. We’ll never get that back, and I didn’t choose it.”

Las Gorgas addressed their decision to skip the nuptials of august 6 about him Melissa Gorga On Display podcast, confirming that “the entire story” leading up to the tension between the family was not public knowledge at the time, but “drops and drops” had emerged.
“I’m not going to sit here and say that there was no drama, that it wasn’t crazy. Yes, there was a little bit of aggression from certain people that might have been a little scary,” Melissa said, noting that there were “a lot of reasons” why it would be “strange” for the couple to attend the wedding from then on.
Joe, in turn, said it was “very, very difficult” for him not to attend Teresa’s wedding, especially since she is his only close family who is still alive.
“For me, it was devastating. It really was. It was one of the hardest days of my life. It was bad,” he said. “But listen: let’s go back to the meeting. She did this, you know? All this was in her. This is what she really wanted. she did not want [Melissa] at the wedding, she didn’t want any of my kids at the wedding, she barely wanted me.”

Despite the drama between them, Melissa confirmed over the summer that she and Joe I wouldn’t be dating RHONJ.
“’This is how rumors start.’ I never said I would leave the show. I was just clarifying how I was feeling after a rough weekend,” she wrote on Instagram. “We have no plans [of] departure. #RHONJ”
